Wake up Your Back (Warm Up) - Joyce Stoughton-Kim
Use traditional Pilates stretches to realign, stretch out, and wake up your back after a long night of dancing. In this class, you will be introduced to stretches that will change how you feel and move for the rest of your day. Take these stretches home and spend 3-minutes each morning, before you get out of bed, to realign your body and help you kick start your day. Bring a towel or yoga mat.
Underlying Principles of the Detroit Hustle and
Beginning Patterns / Advance Concepts - Joyce Stoughton-Kim
This class will focus on various concepts of Detroit Hustle such as the timing, dancing on the Slot, Secrets of Power Moves, Leading & Following, and Lead Space while working on beginning patterns.
Master Class - 1950s' Men's and Women's Styling with HMB Champ Sonny Allen and Barbara Billups
You should note that the "Lindy Hop" that started with Shorty George Snowden has changed with every generation, sometimes twice in a generation. So 1929 is different from 1935 which is different from 1938 and 1943, 1946 and then comes the 1950s. The character and styling of the 1950s is decidely different from anything that came before. This class will help you learn those differences.
Central Avenue Style Lindy Hop - Chester Whitmore
This style of Lindy Hop was revived in 2000. It consists of steps from the (Breakaway), core steps call (Spiking), the King Arthur, the Tulsa. Slip Slop and slide, Squat and Slap, and more. This style was originally danced in the black areas of Los Angeles into the '20s, '30s and '40s. The pioneering dancers were Archie Savage and Marie Bryant who can be seen in the short "Jammin' The Blues."
Intermediate / Advance Detroit Hustle Patterns - Joyce Stoughton-Kim
In this class, dancers will build on the foundation of the Underlying Principle of the Detroit Hustle through-the-use of Intermediate / Advance pattern work. In this class, Secrets of Power moves and the importance of lead space are put-to-use.
Tap for Lindy Hoppers - Paulette Brockington
Learn energetic, stylized and rhythmic movements to develop strength and agility while learning basic tap steps, sequentially more difficult steps and movement combinations. If you've never taken a tap class or it's been a while, this is the class for you! No tap shoes required. We will be learning a fun tap routine that will include some higher level steps.
Drag/Lunge - Milo & Nissreen
Do you know the drag (blues dancing) and how to get in it? This class covers principles of the drag position as well as different entrances into it and how to lead/follow them on the social dance floor.
I Got The Music In Me, A Class On Musicality - Paulette
Learn how to bring more rhythm and musicality into your dancing by having the music broken down to you in ways you've likely never heard in this interactive class. Gain knowledge and tools about improvisation, song structure, and rhythm that you can then take home and practice and sharpen your skills to take you past the usual steps you do. Learn to be creative onthe dance floor.

This contemporary modern black social dance is done to contemporary soul and R and B music. It can be done in six count and eight count variations, tricky footwork as well as hands,the object is to be smooth as glass with a funky sophisticated style.
