WAIVER - I understand that Artspectrum/The American Lindy Hop Championships (ALHC) intends to record my participation in the events/competitions on videotape, film, online and in photographs for print, webcasts and/or broadcast. I expressly grant ALHC the unlimited right and authority to use any such recording in any and all media by whatever ways or means with no obligation to me. Such recordings are the sole property of ALHC. On behalf of my heirs, I agree to forego, expressly waive and release any/all rights for damages that I or my heirs might have against ALHC or its agents for any/all injuries and damages I might suffer by participating in the contest or in traveling to and from its location. I have read all the rules contained in this application and the above waiver, fully understand them, and agree to comply with their contents.

WEEKEND and DAY PASSES
Next price shift is September 1. Couple's contest entry is complimentary until Dec. 31 for those purchasing a weekend pass. On Jan. 1 it becomes $50 per couple. Couples are free to enter at the event at $60 per. Weekend Passes A, B, and D come with classes. Day passes DO NOT include classes. Classes may be purchased individually for $20 each at the event so feel free to make special arrangements. Scroll down to opt for installment payments.

CONTEST ENTRY

PLEASE READ: All competitors must have a weekend pass. Teams and those doing mail registration need to fill our Couples' / Team Contest Entry Form. Copy it as needed. Entry is $50 per couple/$60 at door unless otherwise noted. With 5 or less couple a division will run with awards, 5+ couples to pay out prize money and grant awards.

In keeping with the spirit of the Swing Era. ALHC asks competitors not to wear jeans or sweat clothes while competing. Instead please wear clothes that are within the spirit of what original swing dancers wore. That does not mean that you need to wear a zoot suit or anything else vintage. Please come on the floor dressed neatly, not in jeans or sweats.

Please put your partner's name in the Special Instructions section of the shopping cart. You may still register for the Jack & Jill and other contests at the event. All contests close 1 hour before that contest's party.

Couple contest entry is complimentary until December 31. After that date couples' enter with a $50 fee/ $60 at door.

Cabaret $50 1-2 dancers	This division is open to any style of dancing performed by solo or duo dancers. All dancers must have total involvement in entire piece of choreography. Time limit is 2-4 minutes. Couples swing is not allowed.
Cabaret $100 3-4 dancers	This division is open to any style of dance performed by 3 to 4 dancer. All dancers must have total involvement in the entire piece of choreography. Time limit is 2-4 minutes.
Cabaret $150 5+ dancers	This division is open to 5 or more dancers who may perform any style of dance for 2-4 minutes.
Classic (no lifts or throws) $0/cpl	Couples in this division concentrates on footwork, musicality, teamwork, timing, showmanship and technique rather than on lifts or air steps. Short breakaways are allowed along with separate entrances, but the majority of the 1:45 - 3 minutes' emphasis should be on partnering and content. Couples are asked to have a minimum of 75% recognizable swing content. $60 at door
Junior Swing Championship $0/cpl	Showcase definitions apply but are not required of contestants aged 18 years and younger
Masters $0/cpl	Couples aged 35+ dance in this division from 1:45 to 3 minutes. Showcase definitions apply but are not required to compete. $60 at door
Open Jack & Jill - Jack $20/person	Open to leaders who have a blind draw on a partner. Because the division is open to all levels it leans toward the advanced level dancer. Teamwork, timing, technique and musicality are all important in this division..
Open Jack & Jill - Jill $20/person	Open to followers who have a blind draw on a partner. This division's level leans toward the advanced because it is open to all levels of dancers. Teamwork, timing, technique, musicality are important here.
Showcase $0/cpl	Open Showcase asks for 60% recognizable swing conent. All manner of lifts, drops and air steps are allowed. Couples are judged on timing, technique, musicality, showmanship and teamwork. $60 at door
Pro/Am Follower $0/cpl	Couples consist of a professional leader with an amateur follower. Lift and drop are allowed but no air steps. In all other ways Classic rules apply. $60 at door
Pro/Am Leader $0/cpl	Couples consist of a professional follower with an amateur leader. Lifts and drops are aloowed but air steps ar not. In all other ways Classic rules apply. $60 at door
Strictly Shag $0/cpl	Individual dancers compete showing off their Collegiate Shag skills. Judged on showmanship, projection, timing, technique and musicality. All dancers are on the floor in one heat. $60 at door
Strictly Balboa $0/cpl	In this division couples may perform any form of Balboa and Balswing. This is a lead/follow contest so choreography is not allowed. Show your best timing, technique, teamwork and footwork to do well in this division with the partner of your choice. $60 at door
Strictly Lindy $0/cpl	Performed in a heat couples may perform any form of Lindy. Thisis a lead/follow contest so choreography is not allowed. Show your bst timing, technique, teamwork, footwork and musicality with the partner of your choice.
Team $150.00	A team consists of a minimum of 8 dancers. Dancers perform a minimum of 60% recognizable swing content. Spins, lifts, drops, air steps, acrobatics and breakaways are all allowed. Formations should be emphasized. No heavy metal or techno or jazz music not in the swing idiom music allowed. Teams dance for 2-4 minutes. Individuals may compete on up to 2 teams.
