   The 2009 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) / American Lindy Hop championships (ALHC) National Dance Championships will take place in Stamford, Connecticut on October 24 and 25, 2009 at the Plaza Hotel. The event is administered by ALHC, a division of Artspectrum and has been sanctioned by the AAU fas part of the 2009-2010 competitive season.

  The AAU annually sanctions the Junior Olympic Games in the USA. AAU Dance has approximately 20 schools, studios and all-star teams/clubs that take part in their program. competed.  Dance teams compete in divisions based on team size and grade/age level. Teams have the option of entering the following categories: jazz, tap, contemporary, ballet, lyrical, hip hop, ballroom and/or swing. Solo, duo and trio dancers have the option of entering jazz, tap, contemporary, ballet, lyrical and hip hop. There will be a Junior Swing Championship for those aged 10-19 this year.

   All participants in the AAU divisions must be current members. The AAU membership year runs from September to August annually. In order to obtain a membership current for the competition dates you msut either have a multi-year membership that does not expire until 8/31/09 or you can purchase a membership year beginning 8/15/09. This competition takes place in the 2010 AAU membership year. All memberships may be purchased easily online at www.aausports.org. Your number and card will be issued immediately with payment.    Once your AAU membership is complete feel free to review and complete the enclosed forms and mail them to the address provided. These forms are due with full payment for fees by September 25, 2009. Entries may be submitted after this date with an $25 late charge per entry.

   Call 203.359.1300 to make your reservation. Use American Lindy Hop Championships to get our group room rate of $99 plus tax for 1-4 people in a room. And remember that you may come before October 24 and stay after October 25 at the same great rate.
