ALHC update - There will be no regional contests for the 2008 American Showcase Division. So couples get ready to travel to ALHC to enter the division.

You may remember Mark Eckstein as one of Minnie's Moochers and an active competitor on the West Coast Swing scene. Mark didn't make it back to the last ALHC for the Moocher Reunion but he send notice that he ahs started a dance company which will perform at the Garden State Dance Festival  April 25 in Philadelphia, PA at Jeanne Ruddy's Performance Garage and May 2 in Collingswood, NJ at the Scottish Rite Theatre.

Join us for Motor City Jam, May 1-3, 2009. Larry Lee and the Back in the Day Band will join us for some great dancing to R&B and Motown music. It was a memorable evening for the 2007 event. Don't miss it this year. MCJ is a member of the World Swing Dance Council.

A $1.7 million dollar cut for the National Endowment for the Humanities  Eliminate the $35.3 million dollars the US Dept of Education Arts in Education program has been getting. And finally a $200 million dollar cut for Public Broadcasting. Arts Advocacy Weekend in DC is March 31-April1.
