This year the American Lindy Hop Championships will be held at the Hilton Hotel  in Stamford, Connecticut. It is conveniently located 2 blocks away from the Stamford train station. It is 30 miles north of Manhattan providing easy access to Broadway, Times Square,  Central Park, museums, shopping and more. To reserve a room call the Hilton at 203.967.2222. Rooms are $99+tax each night. Please reserve your room by September 30 to ensure you get our group rate. After September 30 that rate will only be given is space is available.

By air Stamford can be accessed from any of the airports in the New York area. Westchester County Airport (HPN) in White Plains, NY is the closest to the hotel. However, you may choose to fly into JFK, LaGuardia and Islip in New York or Danbury or Hartford in Connecticut. Private shuttles can be taken from any of these airports to the hotel. You might also consider renting a car at one of these airports. When in doubt and there are two or more of you, share the cost and carpool. Or the City of Stamford has a site dedicated to getting to, from and around town. Transportation resources in Stamford may be found at http://www.ci.stamford.ct.us/transportation/default.htm. There you will find information on driving, taking a train, busses and cabs, special needs travel and area airport information.

Directions to the Hilton Stamford
DOWNTOWN

Traveling south on Broad Street, turn left onto Mill River Road. Continue straight; road becomes Greenwich Avenue. After second traffic light, turn right into First Stamford Place.

MANHATTAN, SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT AND WESTCHESTER

Follow I-95 North to Exit 7 (Greenwich Avenue). At the light make a right and an immediate right into First Stamford Place. Drive straight up the hill to the stop sign and the hotel is right in front of you. Make the second left into hotel parking.

NORTHERN CONNECTION ON NEW ENGLAND THRUWAY

Follow I-95 South to Exit 6 (West Avenue). At the end of the ramp turn left. Go under the I-95 overpass. At the next light make a left and get back onto I-95 going North. Get off at Exit 7 (Greenwich Avenue). At the light make a right and an immediate right into First Stamford Place. Drive straight up the hill to the stop sign and the hotel is right in front of you. Make the second left into hotel parking.

THE MERRITT PARKWAY

Follow to Exit 34 (Long Ridge Road). At the end of the ramp follow Rte. 104 South for two miles. Turn right onto Rte. 137 (Cold Spring Road). Follow Rte. 137 to Washington Boulevard down to Rte. 1 (Tresser Boulevard). Make a right onto Tresser Boulevard. Take the second left onto Greenwich Avenue. Go straight under the I-95 overpass. Turn right onto First Stamford Place. Drive straight up the hill to the stop sign and the hotel is right in front of you. Make the second left into hotel parking.

MANHATTAN BY TRAIN

From Grand Central Station take Metro North -New Haven line to Stamford Train Station. Travel time: Approximately 50 minutes.

From Westchester County AIRPORT

Directions: Travel South on I-684. Merge onto I-287E. Merge onto I-95N and follow to Exit 7, Greenwich Ave. Turn right at end of the ramp and right onto First Stamford Place. Proceed over speed bumps and at Stop sign turn left to Hotel entrance. (19 miles / 30 minutes)


FROM LA GUARDIA AIRPORT

Directions: Grand Central Pkwy East to Exit 9E to Whitestone Bridge to Hutchinson River Pkwy to Exit 6,merge I-95N to Exit 7, Greenwich Ave. Right at end of ramp and right onto First Stamford Place. Proceed over speed bumps to Hotel entrance. (32 miles / 45 minute

FROM KENNEDY AIRPORT

Directions: Van Wyck Expressway North to Whitestone Bridge to Hutchinson River Pkwy to Exit 6. Merge onto I-95N to Exit 7, Greenwich Ave. Turn right at end of ramp and right onto First Stamford Place. Proceed over speed bumps to Hotel entrance. (39 miles / 1 hour)
